Buyer of: Audi R8 GT V10 Bronze Metallic 2012

Engine: 5.2 Liter V10
Transmission: 6-speed R-tronic
Horse Power: 560 hp

The Audi R8 was introduced in 2007 with a 4.2 L V8 engine. As soon as 2008, a 5.2L V10 version appeared, but it did not tame the desire for even more performance. In 2012, Audi produced a more extreme version of the R8 and limited the production to only 333, only 90 examples destined for the US. This is the Audi R8 GT.

This example is finished in a Bronze Metallic exterior with a black interior and loads of carbon fiber both inside and out. The R8 GT stands apart from the standard V10 model with a weight reduction of 220 pounds and an increases in engine power to 560 hp (up from 525). Visually, the R8 GT features a large, fixed rear wing in carbon fiber, red brake calipers for the huge carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber winglets on the front bumper, deeper front air dam, and GT badges where the V10 badging appears on standard models.

Audi estimates a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph. Fuel economy is an EPA-estimated 11 mpg city and 20 mpg highway, with a 14 mpg combined.

The R8 GT is sure to impress with any driving style.

Everyday Driver: The R8 is often cited as a favorite supercar that can be used in normal driving scenarios. It is easy to see out of and maneuver. The suspension is more firm, but not overly firm. The exhaust has more growl than a standard R8 V10, but not so much that it is unfit for normal road use.

Performance Driver: The R8 is a great all-around driver, but this is the R8 GT. It has more performance to give for the road or the track. It is lighter and more powerful. And, the styling speaks of performance also. The refinded shape of the R8 remains, but large fixed wing, carbon fiber front winglets, and red accents give away the extra punch this version is packing. This R8 GT is fitted with Carbon Ceramic brakes and paddle shift transmission for driving experience with more performance.

Luxury Driver: The performance is there, but the navigation and other options do remain. The seats are not rigid race seats and still provide enough comfort for regular driving. There is still carpet on the floors and the gear box can be operated as an automatic.
